In 2023, Lara joined Moore Than Words as a consultant, broadening her reach and support for nonprofits. Over the years, Lara’s efforts have raised over $8 million for diverse organizations, building strong networking partnerships and crafting impactful fundraising strategies for nonprofits. Her services have gone beyond conventional approaches, offering support in board management, strategic long-term fundraising, thorough grant research, expert submissions, and comprehensive program planning with smooth implementation.

In addition to her grant-writing work, Lara founded Grant Crafters, a peer group in Hampton Roads that gathers professional grant writers and grant-adjacent professionals for mentorship and support, enriching the community of fundraisers and advocates.
